As a mom of young kids, I know how hard it is to get date nights or alone time with your partner.  But, I also know how important it is to feed your relationship.
Sometimes (more often than I’d like to admit) I get lost in my role as mom and I forget that I have another person who needs me too. But baby sitters and night outs can get  expensive, and sometimes life just doesn’t cooperate…you know, bottle refusers, fevers, or whatever else might come up. Something we have done is do date night at home, even though you may not be getting out, you can still get some fun time in with your partner at home.
Get your glam on with
Date Night In Box…I’ve recently discovered these and they are so much fun!! Date Night In is a subscription service. Each month they send you a unique, themed date box filled with a fun and spontaneous Date night activity. . They have super fun themes like “To the Moon and Back”, “Truth or Dare” and “Karaoke”  of other fun themes, and you can order just one box or schedule them to come to you each month. Check out my review of last month’s box here

Movie Night…..Rent a movie you’ve been wanting to see and have a popcorn bar! Redbox is always full of the newest flicks or you can use a streaming service like Hulu, Netflix, or Amazon. We like to get our favorite microwave popcorn and our favorite candies (I like reeses peices and my hubs love mike n ikes) and we snuggle up and watch our flick and enjoy our treats. I like it even better than the theater because I can wear my jammies!

Cook Dinner….If you don’t mind eating dinner late, after the kids are asleep you can cook a yummy meal with your man. We like picking ingredients that our preschooler isn’t fond of or something we have never tried before. We sometimes order a box like SunBasket, which makes it super easy. The other things i like about using a service like that is I don’t have to find a recipe or make an extra grocery trip, its all done for me.

Spa Night……I’ll admit this is probably more of an activity I enjoy, but my husband indulgdes me every once in a while. You can do face masks light some candles, turn on soft music and take turns giving each other massages…it may even turn into something more fun, if you know what I mean. Its fun to pamper each other, and learn what your partner enjoys.

I’ve been wanting to try one of those date night boxes. They look like so much fun! Spa night also sounds awesome. I think I could lure my husband into that with the promise of massage!

    • When I picked "Be Brave" as my word for this year, I didn't realize I was asking the universe for an actual challenge. (And based on what I've gathered from many friends, I wasn't alone) But, as the year comes to a close, I feel like I met my goal. And while there were some wonderful moments of this year, like starting a new job, growing my breastfeeding support group, and becoming an aunty twice more. But my anxiety was worse than it's ever been (admitting that isn't fun) and watching my mother in law battle brain cancer and Grandpa fight through a massive heart attack, has been hard. Needless to say, I'm ready for a new start with these little humans and their daddy. See ya later 2018 👋

2019, please be kind to us 🙏

    • My top 9 of 2018 was an honest look at Motherhood. This was the year I found my voice, took opportunities outside of my comfort zone, and truly met my goal of being brave. I'm so glad and grateful you are all following along. Excited to see what 2019 has in store. Happy New Year!

    • I have been pretty open about my struggles with anxiety and depression. It's not fun or easy, and I often wish it wasn't part of my story, but it is. And through sharing, I can only hope that even one of you feels less alone. If you need a little extra support, I share daily affirmations in my stories every morning, I hope you'll follow along.
Here's to today being a good day, even in it's imperfections ❤️ #musingsonmotherhood #thisismotherhood #this_is_postpartum #dailyaffirmations
    • Date night with my favorite guy in my favorite booties. These seriously go with any outfit and they are so comfy!

    • Back to reality today and totally experiencing a holiday "hangover" We will be cleaning out and choosing toys and clothes to donate, since the kids got new stuff for Christmas. It's important to me that my kids be involved in this process, as it is their stuff and I want them to learn the value of service. Not taking our decorations down yet, I'm not ready to let the twinkle lights go ✨✨ #musingsonmotherhood #lighttheworld
    • Wishing you a very Merry Christmas. May your heart and home be full of love ❤️🎄
